A light sculpt from sculptris to zbrush. I am pretty happy with the results, still a bit wiggly in spots but I am done with it for now. Here is what I was sourcing from. Sorry for the formatting but blogger refuses to accept my uploads tonight :-(
Trying to make a hi poly fire hydrant from scratch in zbrush, looking to practice the hardsurface tools/workflow. Some parts are working, others are a bit soft, but I am learning a lot. Now on to the fun stuff!
Found some interesting ref on flickr and started this one as a lunch project a few months back, really wanted to see it through to "somewhat" finish, loose in spots but I learned a lot. After getting halfway through I realized that straight up sculpting probably wasn't the best approach to get clean results. Switched to extractions and masking for the square sections, they came out nice and precise. Well at least I know for next time.
Just realized that I haven't posted in like two months, I am always working on something but never seem to think that my pieces are fit to post, which kind of defeats the purpose of this whole thing :-) So anyways here are some paintings from a few weeks back, going to sessions ever other week seems to work best.
Super quick post here, just tossing up some drawings from last week. Starting to get a little bit of a workflow down, we will see how tomorrow's session goes :-)
Here is the current state of things on my UDK project. The scene is moving along, got everything into unreal and cleaned up modelling wise. The roadmap is pretty clear: Textures need tightening, make proper specs and start painting out lighting ideas. The end is in sight!
